This time our story is about Sofia Fedorovna Kiseolar, a resident of the village of Bessarabske, Bolgrad district, who turned 100 this year.

Sofia Fedorovna is living history. When she was 15 years old, World War II began. At that time, Bessarabia belonged to Romania. Then the Soviet government came, and in 1941, the Nazi occupation. Sofia Fedorovna knows about war and famine from her own life. And now she is forced to experience a new war.
Despite a difficult life, Sofia Fedorovna has always remained strong. She raised three sons, the youngest of whom, 70-year-old Anatoly, now takes care of her mother. Sofia Fedorovna worked in a hospital for many years, and after retirement, she was a cook for another two decades. Her life path is an example of tireless work and human resilience.
Today, Sofia Fedorovna warmly welcomed our team and admitted that she had recently weakened a little. But she does not complain about life - she only recalls her experiences with the wisdom of a person who has seen a whole century of history.
It was a great honor for our team to meet this strong woman and support her within the framework of the “Caring Hearts” project. Thanks to this initiative, people of respectable age living in the most remote communities of the Odessa region receive not only humanitarian assistance, but also an important sense of support and attention.
The "Caring Hearts" project is supported by the international organization Church World Service CWS and the Regional Development Agency of Odessa Oblast. It is important for us not only to help, but also to remind each of our wards: they are our history, and we remember them.
